An important year for me. I just had my first real studio, for free, no less, the top floor of a garment factory once used for cutting cloth.
There I was, wondering what, no, how to paint. So instead of using the usual oil paint, I bought white and black enamel house paint. But what too paint with it? What does one paint with house paint?
So I painted an empty room.
I consider it as one of those important moment as an artist because it lay the foundation for my work for the rest of my career. I found out that the how was as much part of the subject as the what.
