1995

That year I decided to quit smoking. So the take my mind of things I started playing around with some toothpicks and candle wax. Out of it came a model of some sort of homemade apartment building. Each floor (with separated rooms) took me a day or two to complete.
When I finished the model, I was no longer smoking.

Since 1989 I traveled a lot back and forth to Paris, staying in all sorts of different circumstances and places. (In this case with Marco.) Paris was and is one of my favorite cities.

1995

Another newspaper clipping, this time of a project I was invited to participate. Ten artists for 10 locations, but nobody wanted that one project that wasn't situated in a private luxury lobby or home, namely the one place that dealt with three floors of dementing people.
Of course it was the one that interested me the most.

1995

Because the event was sponsored, there was a modest budget for each of the 10 artists. So I made 200 big ink-drawings on paper, put them under my arm and walked from room to room, asking the residents to pick one they liked and stick it on their walls.

I did some nice landscapes that year, I think.
